Just as Hanuka is close by, we decided to open a new trail especially following this battle. Why did Juda the Maccabi chose Gush Etzion to await the Greek army? What drove Elazar the Maccabi to risk his life and stab the Elephant? And how does all this connect to what happened in the same place two thousand years later – the battles of Gush Etzion in 1948?
